Once a year, the ZFF brings Hollywood to Zurich. Then, the curtain rises on around 100 curated films, inspiring discoveries as well as World and European premieres. For eleven days, audiences have the unique opportunity to experience today's and tomorrow's big cinema stars up close and personal. A special highlight: with the ZFF taking place in autumn, you can see the films that will win Oscars six months later. The ZFF is committed to promoting young filmmakers and offers up-and-coming filmmakers the opportunity to network with established stars of the international film industry. Our goal: to bring top-class cinema experiences even closer to the audience, to inspire even more people - and to become the home of talent for the stars of tomorrow's stars.

🎬🌹 Ein Abend im Zeichen von Film und Kultur: Beim diesjährigen ZFF Donors «Bring a Friend»-Apéro durften wir neue Gesichter willkommen heissen, bestehende Freundschaften vertiefen und unser Netzwerk stärken – genau das, was unseren Donors Verein so besonders macht. Nach der Begrüssung durch den Vorstand ging es weiter mit einem Flying Dinner im 25hours Hotel, bevor der Abend im Kino Frame seinen Höhepunkt fand: die exklusive Vorpremiere von THE ROSES mit Benedict Cumberbatch, der am diesjährigen ZFF mit dem Golden Eye Award geehrt wird. Dieser Abend hat gezeigt, was den ZFF Donors Verein prägt: Leidenschaft für Film, Freude am Austausch und das gemeinsame Erleben einzigartiger Momente. ✨ Big news! James McAvoy will be attending #ZFF2025. As our special guest and headliner of the #Sounds section, he will be personally present for the European premiere of his directorial debut, CALIFORNIA SCHEMIN’. It is the first time, a film will be shown during the award night at the Opernhaus Zürich. On top of that, a ZFF Masters talk will offer the opportunity to gain insight into James McAvoy’s work. Each year, the «Hashtag» section aims to highlight societal issues that are currently influencing the public and are trending on Social Media. #SaveDemocracy is featuring films that demonstrate how easily fragile systems can be destabilized and the belief in the political rights of adult citizens can be lost, highlighting the importance of vigilance. These are films by filmmakers who explore freedom, equality, and the future of humanity. Hashtag #SaveDemocracy is presented by NZZ.
